This was my first experience of buying (a watch) off of eBay, and I was very happy with my purchase except for one minor detail. What I hadn't fully appreciated was the size of the mid-size watch (34mm) which for me with a 7" wrist is just too small. I purchased extra links from eBay and extended the strap, but to no avail.
It's a shame because the watch is actually very nice looking (I still have access to the watch because I sold it to a friend with a small wrist - it looks fine on him), with the classic red and green logo just under the diamond midday marker and 'Mercedes' style hands.
This watch is obviously quite old now (approximately 20-25 years) as this model was made between 1991 and 1995, and as such the lume is quite weak. The 'T' marking on the dial indicates this watch had the (lower level) Tritium lume and because the watch has such a small face there's obviously a limited amount of surface area available.
That aside, the watch face is very aesthetically pleasing. The black dial on this model has an almost felt-like matt finish, providing the perfect background for the logo and applied markers. The white seconds track also stands out nicely and completes the look.
As to comfort and wearability, as it's a while since I sold it so I consulted my friend and he said he finds it very comfortable to wear. The bracelet is a 301/31 and has an old fashioned folding clasp with 4 holes of micro adjustment to ensure a good fit. His only gripe really was that the fold over retaining part of the clasp is quite stiff to undo, which is perhaps testament to the build quality after 20 years of use. Trying it myself, it is pretty tough to click open but better that than worrying it is insecure.
For just under £200 the watch was a great buy, but ultimately the small size proved to be a deal breaker for me and I moved on to another 2000 Series this time the WK1110. This was a 38mm watch which satisfied me for a while, but that's a topic for another post.
