Numbers one and seven on my list were both black PVD Calibre 5 Aquaracers, and while it would be nice to own both, ultimately it came to the point where I had to choose and I went with the WAY208C over the more 'exuberant' WAY208D with the camouflage dial. The WAY208D is still available at Bicester Village right now and part of me would still love to own it, but I know that if I bought it I would put it on a black rubber strap and right now the last thing I want to do is buy watches that are too similar to watches I already own. It's a shame, but I made my choice and I don't regret it at all, While I don't think the camouflage would lose its appeal, the watch I did buy (and was extremely fortunate to find one month after the original post was written) is something I can't ever see me selling and remains my favourite ever Aquaracer.

Number two on the list was the original 'Red Bull' Formula 1 Quartz Chronograph, a watch that I still like very much, but one which either seems too expensive at £1300 or too cheap at £850. Yeah, I know that makes no sense, but what I mean is to buy it from somewhere reputable that I can return it to if TAG Heuer tell me it's a fake I need to pay more than I want to. So, as yet, this one remains a 'possibility' but not an imminent purchase, maybe one day. Oddly enough, I notice Watchfinder have one available for £1150 right now...

Number three on the list was the Aquaracer 500M 'Leonardo DiCaprio' Limited Edition, a watch that seems to hold its value well (if you can find one). My interest here lies not with Leonardo or the charities it supported, but with the cool blue dial, which of course isn't available in a regular model. I'd still like one of these and it's something that I would strongly consider, even if it meant shifting my grey dial quartz 500M to accommodate it.

Number four was the most expensive watch on the list, and you probably won't be surprised to hear that as yet it hasn't made its way into my collection. I did think about getting the cool leather strap for my CAR2A1Z Heuer 01 Skeleton, but of course, it doesn't fit. Then again I heard somewhere that the strap isn't that hard wearing and that the stitching has a tendency to fray, so maybe it's better that I didn't get one. Pity though, because it still looks super cool.

Number five, and this one I did get. Eventually. It took a long time, but I was extremely fortunate to pick up my immaculate blue and white Pilot from eBay for about £500. I subsequently bought the original blue leather strap for it, and of course I still have the bracelet should I choose to put it back on. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it and it really isn't as big as it looks in pictures. The strap is better than the bracelet I feel, the bracelet tapers a bit too much so it seems a little thin for a 42mm watch.

Number six was another watch that I got lucky with. I bought one from eBay for about £500 but it was in a horrendous state when it arrived and I ended up sending it back. Fortunately a little while later EST 1897 had one in their sale that was reduced from £995, to £750, to £500. What a result, and absolutely mint condition into the bargain. Of course I now have two Searacers as I added the 2000 Series version as well earlier this year.

Number eight is a watch I probably wouldn't buy now, although I still think it looks nice. When I first saw this the novelty of the Link strap on an F1 still seemed quite fresh but the subsequent avalanche of look-a-like Senna F1s has somewhat eroded the allure of this one. It's still a very nice watch, just not as unique as it once seemed. Would love to put this bracelet on the Red Bull F1 though, that would be truly magnificent I'm sure.

Number nine touches on the same problems as the Red Bull Formula 1, namely fear of buying a fake. I still like the design, but it would need to come from somewhere like Watchfinder and be offered at a good price for me to be genuinely interested. Definitely one of the nicest white dial watches I can think of though, I really love the high contrast monotone look with the high impact splash of orange on the second hand.

Number ten remains a somewhat vague 'hope' for the future, I did manage to find one of these on a UK website, but unfortunately it had already been sold. Recently I have purchased something similar in the Grand Carrera Calibre 6 WAV511J (these were a pair of models released for the Japanese market, both limited to 300pcs) and at the moment that one is scratching my blue Grand Carrera itch, but in the future... who knows. There is one on Chrono 24 right now, but it's £3500 + £113 carriage + customs charges... so it probably isn't going to come to anything. And yes I know I said earlier I didn't want to buy two watches that were too similar but for this I might make an exception, especially if my numbers come up on Saturday night!
Well there we have it, I'd say it's somewhat interesting to see what I thought 'wanted' back in 2019 and also what I actually ended up acquiring. Maybe I will do a new 'Top 10 Wants' post in the near future...
