SPOTLIGHT ON: Another Ridiculous eBay Fake!

Just a little post today in lieu of a video... I reported the above 'Monaco 24' to eBay on Thursday and as usual they 'looked into it' and reported back to me that they found nothing in the listing that contravened their guidelines. I mean.... come on. It's not even difficult to see, is it? TAG Heuer have never even made a white dial Monaco 24 and even if they had it sure as hell would never have looked anything like this.

The only silver lining here is that the watch has a starting price of £3000. So if someone is actually gullible enough to purchase this (and it now has a bid!), then presumably eBay's 'hands on' authenticity checks will intervene. I mean, fancy being an authenticity checker and opening a box with this inside. You'd p*ss yourself laughing wouldn't you?

Oh well I did my bit, but seriously eBay can't have even looked at this. Never mind comparing it with a 'real one' just looking at the rotor tells you everything you need to know. 100 MTEERS SAPPHIR CRYTAL. Do they think the Swiss are completely illiterate or what? 🤣

In fact, I'm gonna report it again, because this is ludicrous

Well I reported it again, and as you can see (above) eBay took another look at it and decided that the listing was fine. I mean, did we really expect anything else? I certainly didn't... and it really makes you wonder doesn't it, just how bad does a fake have to be before eBay take it down? Or conversely, do they actually ever take anything down? Because the truth is that the vast majority of fakes are way better than this one...

  2. The item you reported sold and was relisted. I reported the relisting to eBay Australia (where the seller is located) and got it removed very quickly.

    1. That's weird, on the listing I saw it said it was in the UK.

  3. Ah, it looks like there is a number of eBay sellers with the same fakes. Most of them list for a price that implies it is a fake. The one you saw indeed in the UK (eBay 296946756790) listed at 3000£ did not sell. One in Australia sold for AUD 900$ (eBay 146344918494), the relist of which (eBay 146347399256) I reported and was removed but quickly reappeared as eBay 146347704409...
