QUESTION: What size is the TAG Heuer Multigraph?

WK111A

I received a comment on my 'Buying Experience' post for the WK111A Multigraph this morning from 'Steve' who said:

Dude, thank you so much for posting this, information on this watch online is wicked hard to find. What size is it? I've seen everything online from 36mm to 40mm for the same reference number. Do you have a wrist shot you can post? We have the same size wrists. Thanks again!

When I was looking for my Multigraph I had pretty much the same experience, with different sizes quoted all over the place and I still can't find an instruction booklet for this either! If anyone has a link to a document or a video for this it would be very much appreciated, or if you have an instruction manual and you are willing to scan and share, I'm sure there are lots of people out there who would also be very grateful. I did find a video once, I might even have it on a different computer - but I think it was in Spanish, which is not a language I am particularly familiar with!

So, to answer Steve's question, the dimensions are as follows:

Diameter excluding the crown: 37mm

Diameter including the crown: 42mm

Lug to lug: 44mm

Strap size / between lugs: 19mm (I triple checked this!)

Crystal size: 28mm

Thickness: 11mm

And here are some wrist shots taken on my 7.1/2" wrist... although personally I would rely on the measurements more than the photos as to my eyes watches always look bigger in wrist-shots than they really are. I would say of these photographs the first one is the most representative.

As you can see, since the 'Buying Experience' post I purchased the vanilla scented FT8002 rubber strap (approx £115), mainly because I couldn't get on with the clasp despite many attempts to resolve my issues. As I mentioned in that post, the bottom edges of the clasp were quite sharp and came below the folded part of the clasp so the watch was sitting on those two edges of metal. I did try sanding them (which actually worked surprising well and looked very neat) but it didn't make a huge difference.

I've recently wondered if maybe I could attached an oblong of rubber to the underside of the clasp to lift it away from my skin? I might try this as I've nothing to lose. The rubber strap is great, very flexible and extremely comfortable and I love the way it fits the case without any gaps around the edges, but I honesty think it looked better on the bracelet.

That 19mm between lugs size was a surprise, I actually measured it three times but that's definitely what it is. I guess this watch is designed to take the bracelet or the bespoke rubber strap so it doesn't really matter. But if you're one of those people who likes putting different straps on your watches this might be an issue as it's an odd 'in between' size so choices may be limited.

I hope this answers all your questions Steve, and if anyone else has a question they think I can help with, please let me know!
