CBN2A1J.EB0265
Every now and then TAG Heuer release something which makes you stop and stare, and the CBN2A1J 'Las Vegas' limited edition 44mm Carrera Sport is truly one such watch. Now obviously it's not for everyone, but when you consider the environment in which it was being sold it kinda makes sense. What better way to remember the night you went to the Casino and came away with a few thousand dollars tucked into your money belt, eh? But in the cold light of day, maybe it's a harder sell... and perhaps that's why it's currently for sale on the Watchfinder website for just £2550.
Now I don't know the original price, but given the model this is based on costs over £5000 it seems a remarkably low price for something that can't be more than about a year old and still comes with it's original box (including what looks like an unused spare strap - hence the EB0265 part number). I mean Watchfinder aren't exactly known for giving things away, I would have thought they would have at least tried to sell it for £3500-4000 before reducing it? Oh well, I'm sure Watchfdinder know their market better than I do, and it is definitely a 'niche' watch. They can't have paid the previous owner much for it though, given the asking price.
You may remember that there were two very similar 'gambling/cards' Carreras that came out last year, one being this one (limited to 77pcs) and the other being the 'Macau' Carrera (limited to 20pcs) which I think differed only in the subdial hands (red on this one, silver or white on the Macau). Personally I'm not a gambler so this has limited appeal to me, but I do like that TAG Heuer are willing to make limited runs of these crazy looking pieces.
Super cool piece
ReplyDeleteI need to add this to my collection. What's the price?
ReplyDeleteI think it was about the same price as a normal 44mm Sports Carrera, but whether you'll be able to find one for sale I don't know.
DeleteI am selling mine from my collection if you are interested. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi, probably not but good luck with your sale!
