ANNOUNCEMENT: TAG Heuer Release New Aquaracers Today!

Later on this afternoon TAG Heuer will release the first pieces of their new Aquaracer collection. If you follow the brand on social media you might already have seen this image which they have released of the updated caseback engraving. I think stylistically it is a good representation of where TAG Heuer are going with their dive watch, in that the design has been updated with a more modern twist and I expect to see that from the front of the new Aquaracers too.

You can probably expect the revamp to be an evolution rather than a complete revolution, and we certainly won't be seeing the 1000 Series based 'retro' diving watches that some have been hoping for but I do think there will be enough of a change that the new watches will be instantly recognisable from the outgoing models, with significant changes to the bezels, hands and dials.

Launch time is set for 4PM BST, so keep an eye on the TAG Heuer website and other major outlets such as 'Revolution Watches' who are reporting on all the 'Watches and Wonders' releases as they happen. Needless to say I will be posting about the new Aquaracers on Friday once I've had a chance to see what exactly they have released this time and what is being held back for later.

Well I don't know about you guys, but with the disappointing demise of Baselworld it feels kinda nice to have a 'watch fair' of sorts to look forward to even if it is virtual. I feel like I need a bit of a watch boost right about now and what could be more exciting that finding out which Rolex is going to get the rubber strap treatment this year? I'm kidding of course, there's nothing exciting about Rolex, they'll probably make something 1mm bigger and then change the shape of the lugs so it looks and feels exactly the same as it was before. Yaaaaaaawn.

Thank goodness for TAG Heuer and their radical revamps, now let's just hope these Aquaracers are something worth waiting for!
