FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Carrera Air - K4 Calibre 5 (Limited Edtion)

WAR201F.BA0728

This is the new Carrera Air-K4 Calibre 5, made for the Japanese market to mark the partnership with Japanese tennis player Kei Nishikori. The watch is a limited edition of 400 pieces and is the first mens TAG Heuer with a black braclet for some years. One particularly interesting feature you might notice is that the date window displays a 'K' rather than a '1' on the first day of each month.

Living in the UK, I suppose the chances of seeing one of these is pretty low, but you never know, some strange items turn up in the TAG boutiques now and again. I must say it's a very nice looking piece, the blue dial is particularly nice and the black coating works really well with it as well. The red second hand as well is the sort of thing that really appeals to me as well as giving it some extra legibility.

The only slightly odd thing about it is that is still has the old TAG Heuer logo at the 12 O'Clock position, I would have thought all the new watches would have the new stretched version?
